The Russell County Attorney’s Office offers a diversion program for individuals charged with certain shoplifting offenses. The County Attorney Shoplifting Diversion Program or "CATS" Program provides those cited with minor shoplifting offenses the opportunity to watch an online Shoplifting course as an alternative to appearing in court and being convicted. The charges will be dismissed for those that successfully complete the program. The cost of the program is $180.00.
